How to record and share a video message

This article walks you through how to record and share a new video message from within Bullhorn records.

Introduction

Exenai Video for Bullhorn can be configured in any entity as a Tab and or as an Action Menu item. We recommend configuring it in the following Bullhorn entities, but please check with your Bullhorn Administrator to confirm which entities are available in your Bullhorn instance.

  • Contact

  • Company

  • Opportunity

  • Vacancy

Bullhorn Tabs

This shows Exenai setup as a Tab in a Bullhorn record.

Bullhorn Action Menu

This shows Exenai setup as an Action Menu item in a Bullhorn record.

Record a Video

Click on the Exenai Tab or Action Menu item.

Then click on the Record Video button.

Tip: Make sure you have installed the Exenai Chrome Extension

The video capture will load ready to for you to record your video message

Select the correct Audio and Video device that you want to use

When you are ready, click on REC in the video capture window.

This will count down from 3 to 1 and then start recording audio and video.

Tip: Videos are restricted to a maximum of 180 seconds, you will see the time remaining counting down in the video capture window as you are recording.

When you are finished, click on STOP in the video capture window.

Your video will be uploaded and encoded in the background.

When it is done, you will see the options to either Start Over to Save


Click on Save to continue and open the video message details dialog.


Record your Screen

Click on the Exenai Tab or Action Menu item.

Then click on the Record My Screen button.

This will open a new tab in your web browser with the same page as before, but this time you will notice an additional button to Share Screen

Select the Audio and Video devices as before - however this time if you do not want to record your webcam, select none in the drop down.

When you are ready, click on Share Screen

This will open a familiar window allowing you to select what you would like to share, select from a Chrome Tab, Window or Entire Screen.

This will then take you to the tab or window you have selected to share.

If you are sharing a Google Chrome Tab, you will see the bar allowing you to Stop Sharing, you can also switch to other Tabs and select Share this tab instead, as you can with Google Meet and other web conferencing products.

Note the tab you are sharing is visible by a blue screen, to indicate that this tab is currently shared.

If you click back to the tab with the Exenai Video Record in it, which is visible by a red recording dot next to the favicon, as shown below.

If you have selected to share your webcam, you will see your webcam in a bubble on the screen. You can drag and place this anywhere on the screen and you can also set the size of the webcam bubble.

When you are ready, click on REC in the video capture window.

This will count down from 3 to 1 and then start recording audio and video.

When it is done, you will see the options to either Start Over to Save


Click on Save to continue and you will see the following page, confirming that you can return to the Bullhorn tab in your browser to edit the video message details.


Video Message Details

When the pop up dialog opens, enter a Title and Description for your video message.

Please note that the title will be set to 'Exenai Video' by default.

Thumbnail

The thumbnail is used when sharing you video, as the initial image that your recipient will see and click on to play your video message.

You can set the thumbnail by entering a time manually or play the video, pause it where you want to take the thumbnail snapshot and click on Set from Video. Or alternatively you can upload an image from your computer to use as the thumbnail.

This will capture the time for you and set the video thumbnail.

Make sure you click on Save & Apply Changes for this to take effect.

Call to Action Button

You can include a button for a call to action in the landing page of your video message.

Enter a Button Label and Button Link, which is the URL that the button will open.

Make sure you include the https:// or http:// to start your link.

Tip: You can use this to include a link to your appointment booking page.

Make sure you click on Save & Apply Changes for this to take effect.

Branding

You can select the branding for your landing page, from the available options.

Make sure you click on Save & Apply Changes for this to take effect.

Click on PREVIEW to preview your landing page.


Sharing your Video

There are three methods of sharing a video

Embed Link - this is a link to the video only and is designed to be used for social media posts, such as LinkedIn or Xing.

This example shows pasting an embed link into LinkedIn

Click on the Copy Embed Link

Open LinkedIn and click on Start a Post

Paste the Embed Link into the new post

LinkedIn automatically converts the link to a Thumbnail with the Title of your video.

Share Link - this is a link to a branded landing page (with optional appointment scheduling) and is designed to be used when sending a message via email, sms or other messaging platform.

This example shows pasting the share link into a new email in Google Mail with the Exenai Chrome Extension installed.

Click on Copy Share Link

Open a new email in Gmail and Paste in the link

Tip: If you have the Exenai Chrome Extension installed, it will automatically convert a Share Link to a Thumbnail with title and description inside a new Google email.

Code Snippet - this is block of code that you can copy and paste into the source of any email or page, and is used when embedding a thumbnail inside a Bullhorn email.

This example shows pasting the code snippet into a Bullhorn email, however this can also be used with any embedded html code.

Open a new email inside Bullhorn and click on Source in the text editor as shown below
